Featured White Wines
I Favati “Pietramara” Fiano di Avellino 2023 | $38
A classic introduction to Fiano from I Favati, whose Pietramara is 100% Fiano from Irpinia. Expect the combination of fruit, freshness and savory minerality that makes this grape one of southern Italy’s great whites.
I Favati “Family Reserve” Fiano di Avellino 2024 | $89
Our chance to taste a much more serious expression of Fiano alongside Pietramara. I Favati has long produced both a classic Fiano and a Riserva expression (form 200 year old vines!), giving us a fantastic side-by-side look at just how ambitious and age-worthy this grape can become.
Fiorentino “Zirpoli” Coda di Volpe 2025 | $32
Coda di Volpe rarely gets this much attention! Fiorentino’s single-variety version comes from its Barbassano vineyard in Paternopoli and spends five months on the fine lees in stainless steel, preserving the grape’s fresh fruit and mineral character.
Villa Diamante “Vigna della Congregazione” Fiano di Avellino 2024 | $58
One of the benchmark names for serious Fiano. This north-facing Montefredane vineyard sits around 430 meters on calcareous, clay-rich marl, and the wine spends nearly a year on its lees before additional bottle aging.
Perillo Coda di Volpe 2023 | $60
Michele Perillo and his family have championed Coda di Volpe for decades from their historic vineyards (98 years old!) in high, cold Castelfranci. It is a rare chance to see just how structured, mineral and age-worthy this often-overlooked Campanian grape can be.
Bambinuto “Insania” Falanghina Irpinia 2025 | $29
Falanghina through an Irpinian lens! Bambinuto produces this small-production wine from its estate fruit, aging it for about six months on the lees before bottling.
Bambinuto “Picoli” Greco di Tufo Riserva 2022 | $54
Greco is the heart of Marilena Aufiero’s tiny Bambinuto estate in Santa Paolina. Picoli is the Riserva expression, produced in very limited quantities and named for the area where most of the estate’s Greco vineyards are located.
Bambinuto “CUR” Greco di Tufo Metodo Classico 2017
Yes, sparkling Greco! Bambinuto explores Greco in multiple forms, and CUR takes this powerful, high-acid grape into traditional-method sparkling wine with NINE YEARS aging on the lees! We get to finish the class by seeing an entirely different side of one of Campania’s most important white grapes.
Featured Red Wines
If you love Aglianico, THIS is the class. We’re starting with sparkling rosé and youthful Irpinia Aglianico, then working our way into Taurasi and Taurasi Riserva, including beautifully mature bottles from Perillo. All Aglianico but 7 completely different expressions!
I Favati “Corridore” Sparkling Rosé of Aglianico Brut | $38
We’re kicking things off with Aglianico in a completely unexpected form: sparkling rosé! Juicy red fruit, white cherry and a touch of pepper show a playful side of a grape better known for powerful, structured red wines.
Fiorentino “Celsì” Aglianico Irpinia 2019 | $36
Our bridge into serious Aglianico. From a south-facing vineyard in Paternopoli at about 420 meters, Celsì spends 10–12 months in large French oak before further aging in steel and bottle.
Fiorentino Taurasi 2019 | $64
Now we move into Taurasi DOCG. Fiorentino’s version is 100% Aglianico from Paternopoli, aged for 12 months in large French oak before additional time in steel and bottle.
Fiorentino Taurasi Riserva 2020 | $105
A step up in both selection and aging, with 18 months in large French oak followed by further aging in steel and bottle. The 2020 Riserva earned Gambero Rosso’s Tre Bicchieri, giving us a fascinating comparison with Fiorentino’s regular Taurasi.
Perillo Taurasi 2013 | $86
Now we add more than a decade of bottle age. Perillo works with Aglianico from high-elevation vineyards around Castelfranci and Montemarano, making this a beautiful opportunity to experience how Taurasi develops with time.
Perillo Taurasi Riserva 2012 | $105
This is why we nerd out over Taurasi. The Riserva comes from Perillo’s oldest vineyards, spends two years in large oak and then receives extraordinarily long bottle aging before release. We’ll taste it at 14 years old, side by side with the 2013 Taurasi.
Bambinuto “Toppole” Aglianico 2024 | $39
And one last expression of Aglianico from one of my favorite tiny producers of the trip. Toppole is made in extremely small quantities, with late-harvested Aglianico and extended skin maceration, giving us one final perspective on the grape outside of Taurasi DOCG.
