Deep Dive into Nebbiolo, Piedmont, Italy with Maegan

Calling all serious wine nerds. We’re going deep into one of Italy’s most revered grapes and the extraordinary landscape that made it famous.

Nebbiolo reaches its greatest heights in Piedmont, but “Piedmont Nebbiolo” is far from a single style. Tiny changes in elevation, exposition, soils, climate, and appellation can create remarkably different expressions of a grape famous for its haunting aromatics, high acidity, formidable tannin, and ability to age for decades.

Maegan will guide you through six wines spanning Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero, Langhe, and Alto Piemonte, with wines served in comparative pairs so you can taste two expressions side by side. We’ll dig into the geography and terroir of Piedmont, the prestige and history behind its most famous appellations, and why Nebbiolo changes so dramatically as you move through the region.

This is not Nebbiolo 101. This is the class for the person who wants to understand why Barolo tastes different from Barbaresco, what happens when you take Nebbiolo farther north into Alto Piemonte, and how site and place can speak through a single grape.
